A STORM FROM THE MOUNTAIN is a new one-hour tactical video piece from the IMC movement, cut by Big Noise Films and the Chiapas Media Project on the road with the EZLN. From the jungles and mountains of Chiapas to the crowded plazas of Mexico’s cities, STORM follows the Zapatistas’ historic march on the capitol in february and march of 2001.

It brings us from the 500 year-old indigenous struggle in Chiapas to a global struggle against neoliberalism and corporate power. It invites us to read ourselves into the struggle, not as an outsider, but as a participant – as a Zapatista fighting for democracy and humanity, for dignity and hope in our own corners of the world.

STORM is a mobilizing tool for Zapatistas everywhere. Screening copies are available to activists interested in planning organizing events or fundraisers (check out www.bignoisefilms.com for more info). It is currently being streamed on FreeSpeech TV.

February 24, 2001 – The Zapatistas marched on the capitol. And this time, we were there with them.
