Today there was more direct action in the streets with some broken windows and things like that. Supposedly more recently, in the past few hours,
there have been heavier actions.
Is this more racism from the press? Compare the lack of coverage with this, highly political in nature, with the mass coverage of a bunch of drunk white frat guys lighting local debris outside of a stadium on fire. Look at the drunk, angry fans dance around a large fire! Everyone must cover that!!! That, and entertainment, is more news than reality.
Of course, this will likely be dismissed as a “riot” with the limited coverage it is getting. A riot being a bunch of angry, mindless, drunk thugs causing senseless terror and destruction…not a group of oppressed people angry with the way things are; protesting against something that haunts their communities everyday.
Here is one story from Reuters.
